Ukelele Festival

Got there late. Played around with some special effects on the pics. I really like my spam musubi shot and the way it was stacked...in the hot sun, hehe.

34th Annual Prince Lot Hula Festival

A fabulous line up of halau hula performed at the 34th annual Prince Lot Hula Festival at the Moanalua Gardens. The festival honors Prince Lot Kapuaiwa who revived the once banned hula in the Moanalua district.

The performances ran throughout the day. I caught a couple of halau hula groups before lunch and then it started to rain. I had some things to do in the afternoon otherwise I would have stayed. I shot in Manual Mode trying to keep the shutter fast enough to get clear shots and at the same time allowing for the shady light conditions.  The park provided the perfect settings for the performances. It was a large crowd but it still felt cozy, casual and fun.

Full Moon over Kahala

With the Eyes of Hawaii photography club. The full moon teased us for awhile hiding in and out of the clouds.

I forgot to turn off the auto ISO feature, hence all my pics were shot at ISO 3200. Its strange, the camera still allowed me to choose the ISO when I was shooting manual, and I didn't realize until I got home that the auto ISO feature was still turned on.
