Models strutted their stuff with a preview of spring styles and trends. It was a challenge for me shooting with the variable lighting and my shorter lens, despite my front row seat.

Valerie Joseph-It Girl Event
Valerie Joseph boutique store had 10 finalists vying for the title of "It Girl". Autumn Matsuwaki (in red) was a crowd favorite. She was featured in Thursday's Star Advertiser. But she was edged out by the youngest contestant (last pic). The photogenic Autumn made it a joy to shoot the event.

Fashion Show-AM
Mid afternoon fashion show at center stage. Just an hour or so after the yoga demo and the overhead sun made it extremely challenging to shoot
Yoga-Ala Moana Centerstage
The Lululemon store did a demo of various yoga poses. Loved the intense expression on this girl. They had potted flowers all around the stage except for the runway ramp area, which made it a bit difficult to shoot.

Super Moon
The moon was at its closest to the earth in 18 years on Saturday but I got rained out at Kakaako Park but managed to take a pic of the sunset. Went back on Sunday and it was dark, no one was around except a few werewolves in the bushes. Decide to head on over to Magic Island. Got a few shots there but I think Kakaako Park might have had a better view.

Honolulu Festival 2011
There were many ethnic performers at the Honolulu Festival. All with smiles, happy energy and colorful costumes.
Honolulu Festival-Day 2
More great entertainment at the Hawaii Convention Center for Day 2 of the Honolulu festival. I thought it might be cool to take a pic of the hula dancers' feet, since we always follow their hands.

Eat the Street
My latest photo opportunity was at this event called Eat the Street on South Street in Kakaako. 24 lunch trucks and 3,000 people made for long lines. I was one of those that waited 2 and a half hours for Korean tacos.
Food-Xiamen seaworms
Great part about traveling to China is to try different foods. This was one of Xiamen's specialty dishes, seaworms in gelatin...with the special sauce.
